The Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 and voted on several items to enhance dining and entertainment in Oak Lawn.

Patrons of Stacked in downtown Oak Lawn hopefully won’t have such long waits for tables next year after the Board approved an agenda item necessary for their expansion.  The addition proposed by Stacked would add an extra 41 seats in a four season patio area.  The Village has agreed to vacate an 84’ x 24’ wide parcel of land for construction of the addition on the east side of 53rd Avenue.  They are eager to begin construction and give patrons a beautiful new dining option.

The Board voted to approve a parking variation for Fox’s Restaurant and Pub which will allow them to have an outdoor dining option for their popular restaurant on Cicero Avenue.  This outdoor area would seat approximately 50 patrons and be a little over 900 square feet.  This would enhance options for patrons and give Oak Lawn residents a new way to enjoy their favorite Fox’s meals.

Residents frustrated with traffic around the 96th and Kenneth will get a little relief with new stop signs going up which will regulate east and west bound traffic at the intersection.

The most exciting news of the meeting were two news businesses coming to Oak Lawn.    Reilly’s Daughter is returning to the corner of 111th and Pulaski.  Years ago it was a very popular Irish pub at that location. The same family will own and operate the business and promises to be hands-on and bring that corner to life again.  This is great news and we wish them all the best!  Reilly’s Daughter of Oak Lawn was unanimously approved by the citizen Liquor Advisory Board and Board of Trustees.

Another business start up is Juicy Luzy, Inc.  Juicy Luzy is a sangria manufacturer in Oak Lawn and an entirely new classification of liquor license was necessary before they could begin operation.  They are classified as a “wine manufacturer” and for the time being will only manufacture product, but the license classification allows for future tastings as business expands.  Owner Luz Cavazos began making sangria for gifts and she received such high remarks that friends, co-workers and others urged her to take it to the next level.  We are proud that she chose Oak Lawn for her business and wish her the best with her exciting start-up.  Juicy Luzy, Inc. unanimously approved by the citizen Liquor Advisory Board and Board of Trustees.
