 Intersection

Residents should be aware of intersections newly outfitted with Safe Speed Approaches. Signs notifying traffic of the new additions are currently placed. The new state-of-the-art RLR camera systems at the intersections of 95th Street & Pulaski Road and 111th Street & Cicero Avenue have been installed. These systems are currently in a testing and verification phase. The cameras will go live once this phase has been completed with the approval of the Village of Oak Lawn Police Department (30-60 days). At the intersection of 95th Street & Cicero Avenue, where an RLR camera system has been operating since 2008, we have seen a 22% decline in the rate of crashes over a three year period. 95th Street & Pulaski Road saw 40 crashes over the past three years. 111th Street & Cicero Avenue saw 57 crashes over the same time. These crashes often result in injuries. These cameras are one part of our commitment to addressing the issue of traffic safety in the Village of Oak Lawn.
