Community Leaf Raking event:

In cooperation with The Village of Oak Lawn and City of Hometown, School District 123 will be sponsoring a senior citizen leaf raking day. This year, the event is scheduled for Saturday, November 14 and is extending the service to veterans as well. This event is intended to help better serve the community. It is always a fun and rewarding day!

Families interested in participating will meet at their neighborhood D123 school at 8:00 a.m. with rakes in hand. The raking will end at noon. Due to the age of the elementary students, parents and trusted adults must accompany children in order to participate.

Come prepared. Please bring your own rake or raking device to the event. Comfortable work clothing and a set of gloves are helpful, as is a light snack and bottle of water. A complimentary lunch at Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School will follow the leaf raking for all participants at 12:00 p.m.

We also need your help in identifying the seniors, veterans, and/or those within our community that could benefit from this service. Please send in any addresses of those homes in need to one of our District 123 schools or to Larry Fetchko at
