Oak Lawn Arts Commission:

Acorn Measured

The Oak Lawn Arts Commission is continuing to “sow the seeds” of arts in our community with an expansion of their Acorns on Parade project.  In addition to the large acorns which will appear around our Village later this year, they are raising funds by selling smaller acorns which would look great on desks, in bookcases and in gardens throughout the Village.  All proceeds will support additional public art projects in Oak Lawn.

The small acorns are $50 each and are constructed of durable fiberglass with a choice of a white marble finish or an antique bronze finish.  They have a permanent surface patina applied which is attractive and durable.  They are inscribed “2016 Acorns on Parade” to commemorate their inaugural project in Oak Lawn.  Interested residents can view and purchase acorns in the lobby of Village Hall at the service desk.

The Arts Commission is calling all local artists and art lovers who would love to see more art around our Village to contact them for information on their upcoming projects.  There are many volunteer opportunities available for individuals or groups looking for service projects.  For more information, please contact
