Board Review
Spartans Drama Team
The Village Board met last week and congratulated Oak Lawn Community High School’s Drama Team for their amazing win as State Champions for seven years in a row, which is an IHSA record. Mayor Bury and Trustee Olejniczak recognized cast members Cameron DeLaMora, Megan Baker, Brandon Hollenback, Xavier Jacquez-Flores, Mercedes Lopez, Stephanie McFann, Abby Moore, Alexandra Overland, Moises Pena Bello, Carl Seibel, Nicolas Soto, and Genesis Zepeda, as well as program directors.  These amazing teens make us all very proud!

Mancari

A key area of concern in Oak Lawn is keeping our high quality auto dealers viable and competitive.  One of Oak Lawn’s oldest and most successful dealerships, Mancari's Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM was told by Chrysler that they needed to expand their frontage on 95th Street, however their neighbor U-Haul had little motivation to move from their highly successful, high traffic location next door.

Through many negotiations a land swap arrangement was made where U-Haul would move to property owned by Mancari’s at 89th & Cicero and Mancari would expand their dealership on 95th Street.

To achieve this, rezoning and a special use permit were required and the petitioners received unanimous approval from the Board.

Additionally, the Board reconsidered the Village Manager’s recommendation regarding towing services.  Towing services will transition to Walsh’s Towing and Technicraft, Inc on a rotating basis.
