Although our Senior Center is closed Oak Lawn Senior Center staff are answering calls from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. to help assist seniors in need.
DELIVERED MEALS FOR SENIORS
This service is available for all eligible seniors from PLOWS Council on Aging. Qualified people, aged 60 years or over who are having difficulty preparing meals, unable to access groceries safely and/or have no other ways to receive nutritious meals, can receive a meal delivery.
Delivery procedures have been further refined for COVID-19 considerations. To cut the risk potential, drivers use hand sanitizer, wear gloves and take other precautions based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The meals are left outside the front door followed by a knock on the door or phone call. The driver returns to the vehicle and waits to see that the meals are picked up.

ONE CALL FOR ALL RESOURCES: 708-361-0219
PLOWS Council on Aging is taking necessary steps during the COVID-19 outbreak to ensure the health and safety of our staff and everyone we serve.
We continue to provide services and we are available at 708-361-0219.
• To minimize health risk for clients, staff and the community, we are not conducting services in person and we are using alternate forms of contact such as phone and email.
• All events have been cancelled or postponed until further notice.
• Many people in the community are asking about ways to help older adults right now. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Christine Suddreth at firstname.lastname@example.org
PLOWS Council on Aging continues to be committed to providing quality human services to the community, focusing on the health and wellness of the most vulnerable populations.
As we continue delivering services, we are ensuring that staff and volunteers follow all health advisories as directed through resources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization and the Illinois Department on Aging. And, we are maintaining ongoing communications with our community partners to ensure a collaborative approach to coordinated care.
We will continue to remain flexible and respond accordingly as the situation evolves and encourage you to visit our website at www.plows.org for more information.
