Chief Vittorio has been a member of the Oak Lawn Police Department since 1997. He resides in the village with his wife and two children.  He was appointed Chief of Police in August of 2020 after serving as Division Chief of both the Patrol and Administrative Divisions. Chief Vittorio was a member and supervisor of the K9 Unit, Evidence Technician, Firearms Instructor, and a Field Training Supervisor. Chief Vittorio has also served as Executive Officer for the Region 4 South Mutual Aid Response Team and served as President of the South Suburban Emergency Response Team.  Chief Vittorio earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from
Governors State University, and is a graduate of the 269th class of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. Chief Vittorio has completed the Voluntary Police Chief Certification Program through The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police.

Jerry Vetter has been a member of the Oak Lawn Police Department since 1998.  Jerry was born and raised in the village and has served the community in numerous positions within the police department as a patrol officer and supervisor.  After being promoted to Sergeant Jerry supervised in the patrol division, and canine unit.  Jerry has also been assigned to the investigations division having supervised in both criminal investigations and the tactical unit.  As a Lieutenant, Jerry was assigned to the patrol division midnight shift. Jerry was appointed to the position of Division Chief of Investigations in November of 2019 and is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command class 473.

Jim graduated from Illinois State University in 1987 with a B.S. in Economics and worked in the private sector for nine years before becoming a member of the Oak Lawn Police Department in 1996. Jim had the opportunity to work all three shifts in the patrol division over a thirteen year period as a patrol officer and field training officer until being promoted to Sergeant in 2009. As a sergeant, Jim also held the position of field training supervisor until his promotion to Lieutenant in 2016. In September of 2017 Jim was promoted to the position of Commander and held that position on both the midnight and afternoon shifts and graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in 2020. Jim was appointed to Division Chief of Patrol in March of 2022.
