Oak Lawn Residents and Seniors,

 

The Village of Oak Lawn has reached out to the following grocery stores in Oak Lawn regarding their operations and hours over the coming weeks.

For seniors or other residents who are looking for a way to have groceries delivered, there are companies online where residents can order groceries and have them delivered directly to their home for a delivery charge.

 

The company Instacart.com has a program called “leave at my doorstep” delivery.

Chief

William “Randy” Palmer

Chief Palmer has been a member of The Oak Lawn Police Department since 1992. He has served as a patrol officer, detective and supervisor in both the Patrol and Detective Divisions. He served as a member of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force as both an investigator and Assistant Commander. He was appointed to the position of Chief of Police in August 2017.

Chief Palmer earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Governors State University. He is a graduate of the 234th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA.

 

Division Chief Mel Clark

Mel Clark has been a sworn member of the Oak Lawn Police Department since 1992 and has worked in the Patrol and Detective Divisions.   He was appointed to the position of Division Chief of Patrol in April of 2015.

 

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety Management from Calumet College of St. Joseph and has a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Governors State University.   He is a graduate of the 240th class of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command as well as the 259th Session of the FBI National Academy.

 

Division Chief Daniel Vittorio

Administrative Services Division

Dan Vittorio has been a sworn member of the Oak Lawn Police Department since 1997. He resides in the village with his wife and two children.  He was appointed to the position of Division Chief of Administrative Services in 2017. In this capacity he provides general management, direction, and control for the Administration Division. The Administration Division consists of Administrative Services, Animal Control, Code Enforcement personnel, Crossing Guards, Property Room, Records Section, and Traffic Unit.

Dan earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Governors State University.  Dan is a graduate of the 269th class of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. He has also completed the Voluntary Police Chief Certification Program through The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police.

 

Division Chief Gerald Vetter

Investigations Division

Jerry Vetter has been a member of the Oak Lawn Police Department since 1998.  Jerry was born and raised in the village and has served the community in numerous positions within the police department as a patrol officer and supervisor.  After being promoted to Sergeant Jerry supervised in the patrol division, and canine unit.  Jerry has also been assigned to the investigations division having supervised in both criminal investigations and the tactical unit.  As a Lieutenant, Jerry was assigned to the patrol division midnight shift. Jerry was appointed to the position of Division Chief of Investigations in November of 2019.
