Oak Lawn Emergency Communications incorporation with their Fire dispatch agencies have implemented automated Fire Response Plans within the Computer Aided Dispatch application.  This feature of the software will utilize their GIS (Geographic Information System) Mapping and call type to determine what type of equipment will be responding. The system will take into consideration equipment either marked unavailable or on a call and find an appropriate replacement. This process was previously done via paper and could vary based on operator. Now the responding agency has pre-determined specifically what equipment will respond based on the location and type of the call. This will help reduce the time it takes from receiving the call to initial dispatch getting the first responders to the scene faster.
