Liquor License

Liquor Licensing in Oak Lawn requires businesses to obtain license approval from the Village of Oak Lawn Local Liquor Licensing Authority.  The Local Liquor Licensing Authority of the Village of Oak Lawn is the Village Board of Trustees.  Your first contact regarding Liquor Licensing in Oak Lawn is with the Business Licensing Division.  The Licensing Division is authorized to accept liquor license applications.

All Liquor Applications are reviewed by the Liquor and Tobacco Licensing & Review Commission and ultimate approval is made by the Village Board of Trustees.  The Liquor & Tobacco Licensing & Review Commission meets on the 4th Tuesday of every other month.  Your application must be submitted before the Agenda deadline.

Since approval of a liquor license is a two-tier process with the State of Illinois, you may want to visit the State of Illinois Liquor Control Commission website for more information.

Anyone selling or serving alcohol in Oak Lawn is required by the Illinois Liquor Commission to be certified by a certified BASSET-trained instructor.

It is unlawful to sell or offer for sale at retail in the Village, any alcoholic liquor without having a retail liquor dealer’s license.
