Other Civic Involvement: Worth Township Highway Commissioner, 1995-2003; Commissioner, Oak Lawn Park District, 1989-2001 ,2002; President, Oak Lawn Park Board, 1994-1995;  Past Instructor - Northwestern Business College; Founder and benefactor, local education scholarship program; Alumni Ambassador program - University of Illinois; Member of the Illinois State Bar and Federal Trial Bar; Featured writer for the Chicago Lawyer magazine.

Education: B.S. in Journalism, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Juris Doctor, DePaul University College of Law; Graduate of St. Linus Grammar School and Brother Rice H.S.

Other Accomplishments/Activities: Spearheaded the building of Stony Creek Golf Course. Co-founder of the award winning Oak Lawn Park District Theatre Program and Broadway Junior Theatre program for children. Former member of a professional comedy improvisation group in Chicago and has done over 100 radio and television commericals in the Midwest. Mayor Heilmann was featured nationally and internationally for the humorous stop signs which he designed for Oak Lawn. He also has filmed multiple television episodes as Judge Dave for the Speeders Fight Back Program on the Tru-TV Network.

Primary goal as an elected official: To make the community where I was born and raised the finest anywhere to raise a family.
