|Traditional Recycling Guidelines – For Multi-Family Residents
The Village of Oak Lawn encourages recycling of traditional household materials of glass bottles, metal cans, paper and plastic containers. The Village offers the opportunity to drop off these materials at our recycling facility. Please see below for information on the site and listing of materials accepted and not accepted.
*New* effective July 1, 2012, the Village requires all multi-family units to offer recycling. Enforcement starts October 1st. Click here to see this ordinance.
VISIT OUR RECYCLING DROP OFF FACILITY
- Two dumpsters are located at 5550 W. 98th Street. (Northeast corner of 98th St. & Central Ave.)
- Open 24 hours.
- All recyclables may be mixed together in the containers. There is no need to separate recyclables.
RECYCLABLE MATERIALS TO PLACE IN THE DUMPSTERS
All materials accepted at our curbside program are also accepted at our drop off facility, basically household metal, plastic, glass and paper. Please Click Here for more information on materials accepted at our drop off facility, tips, and other information.
MATERIALS NOT ACCEPTED
Yard waste, electronics, hazardous waste, carpeting, refuse, construction debris, plastic bags, etc. ARE NOT ACCEPTED at the drop off facility dumpsters. This is considered illegal dumping. The site is under video surveillance and violators will be prosecuted.
