Parkway Tree Shared Cost Program

Only Village approved trees may be planted in parkways. All tree planting in the parkway must be approved by the Village prior to installation, contact the Public Works Department, Forestry Division (708) 499-7756.

The Village offers a parkway tree planting program. These guidelines help to ensure that appropriate and healthy trees are planted, and prevent future traffic visibility problems. For more information, call the Department of Public Works, Forestry Division, (708) 499-7756 or visit the Municipal Center at 9446 Raymond Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.

Village of Oak Lawn 2012 and 2013 Parkway Tree Planting Program

The 2012 parkway tree planting program is currently full.  We are still taking applications (without payment) in the event additional planting opportunities arise in 2012 and to help set the 2013 planting budget.

The 2011 program was sponsoring a cost-share Parkway Tree Planting Program where residents paid a price of only 25% of the total cost ($300). This resulted in a cost of $65 or $75 per tree. The cost of future tree planting is currently unknown, as it will be dependent on the current program structure when opened again.

The program includes a 2” to 2.5” caliper tree, delivered, installed and mulched. Hurry and inquire today! Contact the Village Forester today at hgreen@oaklawn-il.gov or (708) 499-7098 to reserve your place. An application is available below.
