Fire Academy

The Oak Lawn Fire Academy Basic Firefighter II program is a demanding, practical, hands-on course lasting seven weeks which produces skilled and disciplined firefighters. This course is offered twice a year and has been designed to provide the student with all learning objectives required by the Office of the State Fire Marshal including Technical Rescue Awareness, Hazardous Materials Awareness, and Fire Service Vehicle Operator classroom instruction.

The Oak Lawn Fire Academy, established September 1, 1987, has a long tradition of providing some of the best firefighter training the State of Illinois has to offer. Over 1,000 candidates from departments across the state use the Oak Lawn Fire Academy.
