Metropolitan Family Service
For 150 years, Metropolitan Family Services has been at the heart of Chicago and its suburbs, encouraging family strengths and investing in a comprehensive range of programs and services that help families through difficult times. Each year, more than 55,000 families and individuals receive counseling and other supportive services and hundreds of thousands more benefit from Metropolitan’s
community development and social policy efforts. They provide many services including: child and youth development, school-based services and violence prevention programs, counseling and mental health services, child welfare, services for older adults and their families, community development and social policy initiatives. National Alliance on Mental Illness - NAMISouthwest
Is the local affiliate of NAMI and NAMI Illinois, they serve the southwest side of Chicago and southwest suburbs. Their mission is to improve the lives of persons with severe mental illnesses and their families. NAMI’s membership includes parents, spouses, siblings, children and friends of people with mental illness as well as a number of mental health care professionals. Oak Lawn Community Partnership
Formed in 1996, the Oak Lawn Community Partnership Council is a cooperative alliance between the Village of Oak Lawn, Advocate Christ Medical Center and business, civic, church and school leaders - Working Together to Build a Healthier, Safer and Stronger Community. They meet the fourth Tuesday of the month at 8:00 a.m. in the Village of Oak Lawn Municipal Center Auditorium.
Park Lawn
Park Lawn is a non-profit organization offering a variety of programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Park Lawn’s mission is to provide comprehensive services for people with disabilities and their families. The goal is to promote independence, choice and access to mainstream living. They provide vocational services including: adult developmental training, workshop services, supported employment, community employment services, a senior program and high school transition program. A team of experienced professionals work collaboratively to provide an array of support services to assist program participants and their families in reaching goals. They include the following services: individual and group counseling, transportation, physical, speech and occupational therapy, social services, medical counseling, psychological testing and art therapy. PLOWS
The PLOWS Council on Aging is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting older persons over the age of 60 with physical or psychological impairments. PLOWS stands for the area served-the four townships of Palos, Lemont, Orland, and Worth. An estimated 55,000 older persons reside in the PLOWS area. The PLOWS Council on Aging is located at 7808 College Drive, Suite 5 East, Palos Heights, Illinois 60463 and is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can reach PLOWS by calling 708-361-0219. Sertoma
A non-profit agency, Sertoma Centre, Inc. is headquartered in Alsip, a south suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Based upon its reputation and achievements, individuals residing in parts of Chicago and its south and southwest suburban region seek the services provided by the Centre. These services include vocational evaluation, developmental training, community-based assessments, senior programming, work adjustment training, residential services, janitorial skill training, foster care, job placement services, supported employment, specialized services, school transition services, psychosocial rehabilitation, autism services and a sheltered workshop program.
